My Best Day

Yesterday morning, 
woke up really excited
my braces come off
Sitting in the car
Only two hours to go
Until it’s over

Stuck in some traffic
Moving barely a snail’s pace.
Excitement alive

Off the freeway
I could see a shining light
staring at me closely.

Once in the green chair
One very long hour later
It is almost done

Could not be more proud
At long last it is over
A gift bag in hand.
